Message from Ms. Le Hang, the exchange student from Finland in spring 2019

"The time spent in Japan is probably the most relaxing time of my student life ... I often tell my friends that my 3-month internship in Japan is a 3-month long vacation.

Every day I go to the laboratory to do my work, then I go down to the cafeteria to eat the super delicious Japanese food. The school is very helpful and proactive. Every week, activities are organized for international students to learn more about Japanese cultures, examples are flower arrangement, tea ceremony, kimono wearing, visit to the prestigious Tohoku University, participation in Japanese local festivals...

On weekends, I would go to the city center to eat and see new places. Money was not a problem because I got a JASSO scholarship from the government so there was no financial burden. Time was abundant, I just had to go to school for my practical training then the rest of the time I had fun with going out and relaxing in the dormitory. 😆

Japan is so cool and beautiful. Throughout my stay, I always find something new and strange that only exists in Japan. Japanese people are so lovely. I had many memorable encounters with Japanese people's kindness.

And did I say that the food is super delicious? (important things have to be repeated many times) 😂

Before I went to Japan, I was very hesitant, because I would have to move 2 times (one before departure and one after coming back to Finland because I could not sub rent my room), I would have to worry about a lot of documents (e.g., visa), the flight tickets were so expensive and so on.

But it's true that I'll never know unless I try. In the end, I would regret more about the things I didn't do, not about the things I did.

Closing remarks: I love Japan ❤️ Now staying alone in Finland, I miss Japan even more during this coronavirus lockdown. I really hope the situation will get better soon so I can visit Japan again!"
