International Students participate in online classes

NIT Sendai College is offering online classes for students. Not only Japanese students but also international students including Royal Thai Government Scholarship Students, who are currently staying in Thailand, are participating in the online classes.

Kantapisit Limsupaputtikun (Proton) and Phongwit Srikokcharoen (Pai), who enrolled in NIT Sendai College this spring, are also participating in online classes on mathematics, chemistry, computers, etc. Even though it is unfamiliar for them to take Japanese lectures and the internet environment is not sufficient, they are trying to understand the content of each class by examining the words and related materials themselves.

In the online Japanese classes, they learn an elementary level of Japanese. In addition to the online preparatory education that has been held since last year, online Japanese classes have contributed to improving their Japanese ability. They also attend the online homeroom, which has been held twice so far. In the second homeroom, they introduced themselves to their Japanese classmates using three languages: Thai, English, and Japanese. Students can now exchange emails with each other using Gmail address.

The online classes will continue for a while, but two new students are not worried too much. Proton said, “Online classes are easier to catch up compared to in-person classes, so there is no problem.” Pai added, “When the first class starts at 8:50 a.m. in Japan, the time in Thailand is 6:50 a.m., and this is all right since I am a morning person. Online classes are very accessible and convenient. I do not need to hurry to move to a different classroom between classes, so I can take a break and relax until next class starts.”
